Women's Global Leadership Initiative

A new generation of women: creating unity,
strength and initiative through community.

Client Testing

Women's Global Leadership Initiative is a organization focused on helping women in the baltic states gain leadership skills to help lead their communities into the future.

I had one tester from the organization go through and review the site answering the following questions. Question is in bold answer underneath in normal text.

Based on these results we have planned to go in a tweak a few items to get the site more up to date. Navigation issues have already been corrected since posting this.

  1. Is there any content on the site that is not correct or did not come out as you intended it to?

It looks like you've got the content as it was provided, although I'm not as equipped to answer this question as Diana would be.

  2. Does the site load in a reasonable amount of time?

Initially, it took about 15 seconds to load, but when I tried it a second time, it loaded very fast.

  3. Were there any links that did not work?

All of the links worked, except the ones at the bottom of each page. I'm not sure whether they're supposed to work, or not.

  4. What is the overall tone and feel of the site.

The overall tone and feel of the site: It looks like a serviceable, basic site. Over time, it will be nice to add more graphics, color, and interesting fonts.

  5. What is the site about

The site is about an organization that provides leadership training and support to women who want to become change agents in their communities.

  6. What was your first impression of the opening screen?

My first impression of the opening screen was influenced by the compelling photo of the young woman at the top of the page. I felt an immediate connection with her, and also felt inspired to engage in the kind of work that would help other women.

  7. Where did you first click?

I clicked in a very methodical way. I started at the beginning, and worked through every- thing from left to right.

  8. Did you find the site easy to navigate?

The site was easy to navigate, except that when you roll over the word "Events" on the home page, it only showed the Image Gallery option. It also occurred to me that it would be less confusing to place the IG under "About Us." Perhaps you've already discussed this with Diana, so I wouldn't want to create confusion about that.

  9. Were the pages interesting? Why or why not?

Although the pages contained interesting information, the amount of unbroken text may be daunting to some visitors. It's clear that we need to add visual interest over time.

  10. What did you like best about the site?

I liked the ease of navigation. It's very simple to use.

  11. What suggestions for improvement do you have?

I've already mentioned the improvements that I would suggest.

  12. Were there any links that did not work, images that did not load, typos?

As an editor, I did notice quite a few typos, punctuation issues, and changes in wording. All in good time. If possible, on the Home Page, please capitalize the word "leadership" in the organization's name. That's really important. Also, under "Who is WGLI," the word "affect" should be "effect."

  13. Could you find the online form to join the organization? Describe how you found this item.

I did not find the online form for joining the organization.
